Tipping Your Performers

We recently went to a drag show with some fabulous performers in the local area. We were extremely disappointed to see the audience not participating in the show much less tipping the performers. Perhaps people don’t understand how expensive drag can be.
These ladies have to buy makeup, outfits, wigs, shoes and sometimes props to make these performances come to life. The are giving you an experience and the more you’re into it, the more they’re into it. But when people are talking among each other and not valuing the art that is coming to life in a live performance, the performer will not give you any more than you’re giving him/her.
We find it rude that anyone would not tip your local drag queen. Remember not everyone just won $100,000 and not everyone gets the booking fees that anyone who appears on RuPaul’s Drag Race gets. So support this art, or it will go away.
