Hurricane Bianca is in Town: No One is Safe!
Drag Superstar braces for Hurricane Bianca…
|
Bianca Del Rio, the triumphant winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6, is excited to announce plans to take feature length screenplay Hurricane Bianca to the big screen! The film is a comedy about a New York teacher who moves to a small Texas town, is fired for being gay, and returns in disguise as a mean lady to get revenge on the nasty town. And you thought your job was a drag!
Hurricane Bianca is a collaboration between long-time friends. The story, written by Matt Kugelman, an editor for the CBS: This Morning Show, was created specifically for Roy Haylock, comedian behind drag alter-ego Bianca Del Rio. While the film is a mainstream comedy featuring Bianca’s notorious biting wit, it also deals with the serious issue of being fired for one’s sexuality. Marriage equality may be on the rise, however it’s still completely legal in 29 states to fire someone because of their sexual orientation. Topical, touching and really funny, the film is one person’s journey to find himself while pretending to be someone else. They need your help to make this happen! Hurricane Bianca is currently in fundraising mode. Go to HurricaneBianca.com or click here for a preview. |
